New Zealand distillery Scapegrace has hit the milestone of more than 100,000 nine litre cases of product sold during the 2023 financial year.
Sold in more than 42 countries around the world, the results saw Scapegrace post revenue of $12.7 million NZD, a 30% increase in comparison to the year prior. The company is forecasting a similar revenue rise next year.
The cases were across the brand’s portfolio of gin, vodka, single malt whisky and RTDs.
Commenting on the historic sales for the company, co-founder Daniel McLaughlin said: “We’re really pleased with this strong ongoing year on year growth. In February we’re marking a decade of Scapegrace being in business and we’re really proud of the domestic and international success we’re seeing as we continue to build New Zealand’s reputation as a world class premium spirits producer.”
In addition, the company has secured $13.9 million NZD of new capital, including $2.9 million government funding for an expansion on its distillery. Its set to be the largest distillery in New Zealand, with stage one completed and the second stage to be completed in March 2024. Not only will it increase production, but also create job opportunities and boost tourism and the economy for the Central Otago.
McLaughlin added on the investment: “This investment is allowing us huge growth as we take our award winning, distinctly New Zealand products to the world. We know our commitment to quality and innovation will continue to drive our success and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in the next ten years."
A capital raise seeking $8 million NZD is underway, with $5 million NZD already secured.
