X MUSE, Scotland’s first blended barley vodka, has unveiled a limited-edition bottle and giftbox inspired by Anglo-Argentinian artist Pablo Bronstein.
Only 99 bottles of the limited-edition vodka are available, with each featuring hand painted and foiled gothic and chinoiserie motifs, available at an RRP of £299. Purchases are available exclusively via Hedonism Wines in-store and online from the X MUSE website.
The X MUSE Revel Series limited-edition has been described by drinks writer and broadcaster Ian Wisniewski as having aromas of ripe, fragrant apples and pears, with notes of pear drops and juicy, crisp apple on the palate, together with richer, baked apples, hints of honey, ginger and nutmeg. The notes in the finish are described as juicy apples and pear drops, balanced by dry based notes. The vodka is steeped on amethyst crystals before bottling.
A portion of the sales profits will be donated to Outset Contemporary Art Fund, a leading independent charity pioneering global arts projects .
The motifs featured on the bottle and gift box take inspiration from Bronstein’s Rose Walk, an installation of two ten-metre-high pavilions playfully juxtaposing gothic and chinoiserie elements.
The brand’s name X MUSE is derived from Ian Hamilton Finlay’s Xth MUSE, while the bottle itself is said to draw inspiration from Charles Jencks’ monumental landscape artwork Cells of Life.
