Master blender François Thibault joins Cardinal du Four

Cardinal du Four, which describes its 21 Rébellion Armagnac as ‘the modern connoisseur’s answer to Cognac’, has announced the appointment of François Thibault.

Cognac master blender and creator of the Grey Goose Vodka recipe, Thibault originally joined the spirits world in 1982 at Cognac House. He joins Cardinal du Four as co-founder and master blender.

Cardinal du Four founder and president Christophe Namer commented: “The success of Cardinal du Four, 21 Rébellion is a testament to François’ meticulous craftsmanship, and we’re delighted that he has officially joined the CdF family.

“As master blender, he will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our brand, while infusing his signature touch and innovative vision.  His unwavering commitment to quality and dedication to groundbreaking innovation will surely elevate our company to new heights.”

Thibault added: “In a relatively short time, Christophe has made his mark in the industry, introducing Cardinal du Four Armagnac to the North American luxury spirits market. I’m pleased to join him in the evolution of the brand, and look forward to sharing my expertise with both connoisseurs and those who newly discovered the distinct charm and appeal of Armagnac.”

Cardinal du Four 21 Rébellion Armagnac is a blend of Armagnacs from 21 to 42 years old. Tasting notes shared by the brand highlight floral aromas, spice notes, caramelised apple, and cacao beans.

The Armagnac is presented in a glass decanter with a closure inspired by a Cardinal’s mitre, a nod to Cardinal Vital du Four, a theologian and philosopher, for whom the brand is named.
