Midleton Distillery Experience reopens following flood damage

Midleton Distillery Experience has opened its doors today for the first time since it closed due to flood damage in September 2023, two weeks after it originally opened.

The relaunched experience will take guests on distillery tours and includes masterclasses, tastings, and an Irish whiskey academy.

The Midleton Distillery Experience Tour gives visitors a comprehensive view behind-the-scenes at Midleton distillery, including the cooperage, distillers cottage, and maturation warehouses. At the latter, attendees will have an opportunity to draw and taste whisky straight from the cask.

New to the experience portfolio is the Midleton Cocktail Class, in which visitors will make seasonal, curated cocktails, guided by a Midleton mixologist. For further knowledge, the Discoverer Academy gives guests a closer view of the production process behind Midleton’s whiskey and the Irish Distillers portfolio.

Greg Hughes, brand homes and education director at Irish Distillers, said: “This is a huge day for the team in Midleton and everyone at Irish Distillers as we celebrate the reopening of the Midleton Distillery Experience. Midleton Distillery is the heart and soul of Irish whiskey, and our revamped visitor experience will only enhance its already stellar reputation for excellence on the international stage and deliver a world class tourist attraction.

“We now look forward to welcoming our very many brand fans, domestic visitors, and international tourists to the town of Midleton and East Cork area this year and into the future.”
