Sustainable Spirits Collection launches on easyJet flights
Sustainaholics created the 5cl Alumini in 2023 for travel retail, as a lighter, recyclable, low carbon packaging option. The company has now partnered with spirits brands and easyJet to create the Sustainable Spirits Collection. Featured in the collection are spirits from independent British brands Ellers Farm Distillery, Two Drifters, Wildjac, and Penrhos Spirits.
“We’re incredibly proud to launch our award-winning Alumini in this industry-first collaboration,” said David Mills, founder of Sustainaholics.
He continued: “We have the best possible launch airline in our mission to promote more travel-friendly solutions and showcase the innovation being delivered to the UK spirits industry today by independent challenger brands committed to producing great-tasting drinks that minimise our impact on the planet.”
North Yorkshire’s Ellers Farm Distillery’s contribution to the collection is Y-Gin Orange, an easyJet-exclusive flavour from its gin brand. After its founding in 2022, November 2023 saw comedian Ricky Gervais joined Ellers Farm Distillery as a co-owner after a “major investment”.
Steve Hickey, sales director at Ellers Farm Distillery, said: “It’s been fantastic to partner with Sustainaholics on this project and to see our first airline listing go live with easyJet. Our new Y-Gin has a fabulous flavour that will delight customers and it’s also great to be noticed for our genuine commitment to sustainability and innovation in the drinks industry. We can’t wait to see Y-Gin Orange take off later this month.”
Also joining the collection is Wildjac Cherry Wood Spiced Rum. The barrel-aged rum is infused with cherry and has a “rounded vanilla oak finish”.
Ashleigh Bourne, managing director at Wildjac, commented: “Being an independent distillery committed to sustainability and community, partnering with a renowned company like easyJet is an exciting opportunity for us. Our spirits, crafted with foraged botanicals from the English countryside, reflect our dedication to premium quality and environmental responsibility.”
