Fantasy-inspired bourbon created by Critical Role and Find Familiar Spirits

Find Familiar Spirits has collaborated with entertainment group Critical Role to produce Sandkheg’s Hide, a bourbon whiskey imagined for Critical Role streaming series Vox Machina

The small-batch bourbon is presented in a dark green bottle and burlap bag, based on the description of the spirit in episode 65 of Vox Machina. Sadkheg’s Hide’s box will include exclusive content for fans of the series, with a journal from the fictional maker of the in-world whiskey written by jasmine Bhullar. The whiskey also features art by illustrator Tyler Walpole and map by fantasy cartographer Devan Rue.

Master blender Ale Ochoa created the bourbon with flavours inspired by Vox Machina’s setting of of Exandria. The brand says the result has notes of apple, spice, shortbread, and oak. Blended into the bottling is whiskey finished in vermouth and sherry casks.

Founded by actor Matthew Lillard, screenwriter Justin Ware, and Blue Run Spirits co-founder Tim Sparapani, Find Familiar Spirits is the creator of further fantasy-inssired spirits. The brand’s Quest’s End whiskey takes influence from the world of Dungeons and Dragons for its Paladin, Paladin +1, and Rogue bottlings.

Lillard commented: “From the gorgeous ‘in-world’ Exandrian bottle design to the delicious whiskey blend to the incredible all-new Critical Role art and story in the journal, we’re insanely proud of what we’ve created with Sandkheg’s Hide. We think Critters [Critical Role fans] are going to freaking love it.”

Sandkheg’s Hide (46.5% ABV) will be available for US$99.99 via questsendwhiskey.com, seelbachs.com, and sandkhegshide.com starting 2 May for three weeks only.
