Premium Tequila brand the Butterfly Cannon has announced its new reposado expression, the Winged King. The new Tequila is available now to UK specialist retailers. 

 

The Winged King is made from seven- and eight-year-old blue agave plants and rested in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The resulting flavour profile is one of citrus, oak, baking spices, and caramel, according to the brand.

 

The new reposado is presented in a black gloss ceramic bottle and features a chrome stopper with a life size monarch butterfly. 

 

Tim Dunlop, European commercial director at Biggar and Leith, commented: “…The Butterfly Cannon Reposado offers the UK a high end, ultra-premium and beautifully executed Tequila. It will capture the attention of consumers brought into the category who are seeking something truly special, that tastes as good as it looks.”

 

The Butterfly Cannon has also announced its new direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce site, where customers can purchase its Tequilas as well as find stockists and serving suggestions. 

 

Dunlop continued: “It’s no secret Tequila is booming. For specialist retailers, the new expression presents an opportunity to attract consumers into the ultra-premium sector at a time when the category is moving at pace and establishing itself in the home. In addition, our new D2C e-commerce platform gives consumers the option to purchase all four expressions for home delivery — it’s a channel that is growing for us globally so we wanted to bring that option to the UK market too.”

 

The Butterfly Cannon The Winged King Reposado is available to retailers via Craftwork and directly to customers via butterflycannontequila.com alongside the brand’s Cristalino, Rosa, and Tequila Blue expressions.
