Holyrood Distillery reveals new-look gin bottle

Edinburgh’s Holyrood Distillery has unveiled a new look for its Height of Arrows Gin.

The new bottle draws inspiration from Arthur’s Seat, the famed hill in Edinburgh at the base of which Holyrood Distillery can be found. Height of Arrows is named for Arthur’s Seat, in a literal translation of its Gaelic name ‘Àrd-Na-Said’.

Distillery manager Calum Rae explained the connection between the new bottle and the historic Edinburgh landmark: “The sloping shoulders of the bottle are reminiscent of the peak of Arthur’s Seat, while its green hue is a nod to the resilient lichen that adorns its rocks.

“The bottle uses a tactile sea-glass effect to represent the texture of the spirit, and serves as a reminder of the unstoppable forces of both time and nature which are both synonymous with Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park.”

Height of Arrows Gin was first released in 2022. It uses juniper, Isle of Salt and Edinburgh beeswax to create its “layers of texture”.

The new Height of Arrows bottle will be available from Holyrood Distillery and select online retailers from Friday 10 May.

Holyrood Distillery launched its inaugural single malt whisky, Arrival, in October 2023, Earlier this year, the distillery secured a £2 million plus deal with Ferovinum to support its international and domestic growth plans.
