Brown-Forman updates executive leadership team

Brown-Forman, the drinks company behind Jack Daniel’s, has appointed Diane Nguyen as chief people, places, and communications officer. Nguyen will also join the Brown-Forman executive leadership team. 
 
In the role, Nguyen will lead on strategies around culture, people, processes, and structures, as well as managing corporate communications and workplace strategy. 
 
Nguyen’s current role is senior vice president, human resources director, global commercial and corporate teams. She has worked with Brown-Forman for 16 years in various areas including global production, global marketing, and commercial. 
 
Lawson Whiting, president and chief executive officer, said: “I am delighted to welcome Diane to the role of chief people, places, and communications officer and to our executive leadership team. Her human resources experience, strategic talent management expertise, dedication to our culture, and cross-cultural business acumen make her an exceptionally well-suited leader for this role.”
 
Nguyen succeeds Kirsten Hawley in the role, who will retire effective 9 August. Hawley has served at Brown-Forman for almost 30 years and joined the executive leadership team in 2013.
