World Beer Awards reveals 2024 winners

The World Beer Awards 2024 has revealed the World’s Best beers after a final judging held in Norwich, which also included winners in style and design categories.

Among those named World’s Best this year were West Yorkshire brewery Vocation’s Crush Hour, which was named World’s Best Pale Beer, Spanish lager 1906 Black Coupage for World’s Best Lager, and World’s Best Dark Beer was won by Vattanac Brewery in Cambodia, for its Dragon Premium Dark Beer.

Pete Brown, global chair of judges, commented: “For the brewers who entered beers into the competition, I’d just like to say thank you! There are a lot of these competitions around the world, this is my personal favourite one — it’s a really great competition to judge and it obviously wouldn’t be that if we didn’t get really good beers being entered. I know people could have chosen to enter a different competition, I’m just very grateful they entered this one!”

Anita Ujszaszi, awards director for the World Beer Awards, added: “The turnout this year has been phenomenal. The passion for great beer is clearly alive and well in the global industry — the last two days at the World Beer Awards have been a clear testament to that. We’ve had beer from dozens of countries and a diverse range within each award category. It’s impossible to imagine how much hard work every brewer has put into their final product but the kind words and detailed feedback from the judges speaks volumes! Thank you so much again to everyone involved.”
